Best of Slovenia - Lake Bled, Postojna Cave and Predjama CastleDeparture to the southeast of Slovenia for a visit of Postojna cave where its stalactites and stalagmites form a true underground paradise that was carved by the Pivka river. It impresses with its magnitude of 24 kilometres of connected caves. The visit takes place with the train and partly on foot. Afterwards we will visit the Predjama Castle, which is located and constructed on a 123-metre-high cliff and connected with a cave. It is one of the most beautiful and special sights in Central Europe. The castle is among the Guinness World Records as the largest cave castle. You will also learn about the legend of the knight Eramsus, the Slovenian Robin Hood. Later departure to Bled, one of the most popular Slovenian tourist places. There we can enjoy the natural beauty and the splendour of its turquoise lake. Optionally you may visit the lake island with the traditional boat Pletna and climb the 99 stone steps to reach the Baroque style Church of the Assumption of Mary. There you can also ring the “wishing bell”. The visit of the Bled Castle will reward you with a marvellous panoramic view. This castle from the 12th century also houses the printing museum. It is also an important protocol site for meetings and weddings. We recommend tasting the famous local dessert, Bled cream cake called “kremšnita”.
